The Waltz is usually the first dance that newcomers would learn. It is romantic dance with flowing movements and turns. Couples dancing the Waltz will look like they are gliding on the dance floor as you will see in the first video on this page. The Waltz is danced to music in 3/4 time which means three beats in each measure.The first video I have is a couple competing on Dancing with the Stars. You can get an idea of how the Waltz look when you achieve an advanced level of proficiency in this dance.
This second video will teach you the basic steps of the Waltz. I think the teacher in this video does a good job of explaining the box step. He also shows you how to dance on time with the music. I think his repetitive counting to the music really helps you learn the rHythm of this dance.
