Dance at NDSU

So you are interested in learning to dance? I have good news for you! NDSU offers social dance class every semester. The class usually cover the more popular dances like the Waltz, the Foxtrot, and the Swing. You will also get to learn a little bit about many different dances. It is a great opportunity to meet new people and have fun. The class is one credit and you do not need to bring a partner. You will be paired up randomly every class period. You will start dancing on the first day of class!

The pictures above are from a dance practice with the NDSU Ballroom Dance Club (courtesy of treasurer of the club, Carly Trowbridge). This year, NDSU students formed a Ballroom Dance Club. They are just starting so they only meet twice every month but expect a lot more activities from them starting next semester because they will be getting more funding. Come to the dance club, meet new people and be involved in something fun! Also click this link to visit the Facebook page of the club to be updated on any news.

While the club wasn't official last semester, some members did compete in the Star of the North dance competition in February of 2011. This year, the dance club decided to have the more advance members to participate in the competition. Anyone is eligible to participate so you do not need to be a part of the club to compete. There will be many different awards and prizes. More information on this event here .Below are some pictures of NDSU students who took part in the last dance competition.
